| Marijuana grow rooms in Amsterdam |
In the Netherlands it's legal to smoke marijuana in public and there are coffeeshops on almost every streetcorner in the Amsterdam where you can buy your marijuana. But growing more than 6 marijuana plants is illegal in the Netherlands. Because of a so called "gedoogbeleid" it's legal to buy marijuana in a coffeeshop but it's illegal to grow on a large scale.
To supply the coffeeshops there are countless small and big, secretive grow rooms in Amsterdam. Houses, appartements, attics and storages are turned in to proffesional growrooms.
A lot of these marijuana crops are grown for coffeeshop supply. But on a large scale marijuana is grown for export.
Although marijuana seeds are legal to sell in growshops, seedshops, headshops and even souvenirshops, marijuana clones are illegal. But just like growing marijuana, clones are on the black market and clone rooms are maintained by proffesional growers on a large scale in the Netherlands. Some clone growers sell over 2500 clones a day for about
2.00 euro a piece.

This is a marijuana growroom with 800 marijuana plants and 40 HPS lights.
The harvest will be about 16 kilo's (+/- 400 grams a square meter).
When the plants are starting to grow buds they sometimes get a little heavy on the top, so a net is placed
so the top doesn't bend or break.
Here are the marijuana buds close up. The little white hairs are THC crystals.
